We recently were in Provincetown and had to move hotels due to issues at our first one. We were annoyed and disappointed that we had to move due to poor conditions HOWEVER.....we found a 'diamond in the rough' when a family member got us in at 8 Dyer Hotel. Will never stay anywhere else when we visit. Impeccable and thoughtfully planned out accommodations, wonderful breakfast and beautiful common areas. However, the best part is the warm and caring staff. We felt genuinely cared for during or way too short of a stay and look forward to returning.
Of all the great places we stayed in the USA, this was by far our favourite. The modern and tastefully decorated rooms and the luxurious bedlinen are a delight. You'll appreciate the thought that has gone into every little detail. The hotel is ideally located for a visit to Provincetown, quiet at night yet only a few steps away from all the hustle and bustle of Commercial Street. Breakfast (with Shane) in 8 Dyer is a real treat too. If you are looking for a great place to stay, you can stop looking. This is the one. 8 Dyer Hotel is such a gem! The owners are the sweetest hosts—you can really feel how much they care about their guests. Our room (#12) was cozy, comfortable, and perfect to come back to after a day out. The hotel has all these thoughtful little touches—snacks, coffee, and tea always waiting in the living room, plus a hot tub, pool, and even an outdoor shower. But the real highlight? The daily breakfast ticket to their restaurant down the street. It was delicious every morning and felt like such a treat to have it included. The location is perfect too—tucked away on quiet Dyer Street so you can actually relax, yet just a short walk down the hill and you’re right at the start of Commercial Street. Affordable, peaceful, and full of charm… honestly, we can’t wait to come back!
The 8 Dyer Hotel + Benchmark is absolutely one of our all-time best Guesthouse/Inn experiences of our lives! And we're innkeepers ourselves... and not young! Hosts Steve & Brandon and their crew were easy to communicate with, very responsive to our requests, charged our EV car for us during our first day, served a delicious/creative breakfast every morning, and more! . This boutique guesthouse is extremely well maintained, with their attention to all details of the rooms, public spaces, pool & hot tub, in an ideal location close to everything yet quiet, that make the 8 Dyer + Benchmark a memorable, favorite stay, and our first choice for our next Provincetown visit. My husband and I stayed at The Benchmark Inn, and it was by far the best inn we’ve ever stayed at! Steve was wonderful to speak with when booking, and Greg greeted us on arrival with a warm welcome and a tour of all the great amenities — a free snack bar with homemade treats, drinks, Nespresso coffee, and more, plus a sauna, hot tub, pool, and patio area. Our room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully designed, with top-quality toiletries and thoughtful touches. The location is perfect — an easy walk to all the restaurants, shops, and galleries downtown. A huge perk was the complimentary breakfast at Yolqueria, featuring amazing fresh, local food, delicious coffee, smoothies, and cocktails. The entire staff, including Shane, went above and beyond to make our stay special. We can’t wait to come back next year — this is the best place to stay in Provincetown!
We had a wonderful stay at 8 Dyer. The hosts as well as the guests couldn't have been more welcoming. Everything was great. We appreciated the nicely decorated, very clean room we stayed in. We especially loved the home cooked breakfasts and afternoon snacks. Even the coffee and tea provided was exceptional!
Our second stay at 8 Dyer was as fabulous as the first! Penthouse 1 was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. We had spectacular views no matter where we looked. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. Dee, Shane, and Greg were warm and welcoming- we didn’t want to leave! Thanks for making our anniversary weekend special. I almost forgot- the cake pops were a fun treat!
My wife and I stayed at 8Dyer in late September while in Provincetown for a friend’s wedding, and we could not have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the innkeepers were incredibly thoughtful, helpful, and welcoming—they truly made us feel at home. The inn itself is beautiful: modern yet cozy, spotless, and so well cared for. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Each morning we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at their sister restaurant, Yolqueria, which was absolutely delicious. The location is perfect—right in town, yet quiet and peaceful. The price and amenities are wonderful: a coffee/tea station, parking (huge bonus in Ptown!), pool, hot tub, and even an outdoor shower. We loved every part of our stay and are already looking forward to coming back soon. Highly recommend 8Dyer if you’re visiting Provincetown!
